ഉത്തരാർദ്ധഖഗോളത്തിലെ ചെറുതും പ്രകാശം കുറഞ്ഞതുമായ ഒരു നക്ഷത്രരാശിയാണ് ചെറു ചിങ്ങം (Leo Minor). ഇതിൽ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ജ്യോതിശാസ്ത്രവസ്തുക്കളൊന്നുമില്ല.[1][2][3] വടക്ക് സപ്തർഷിമണ്ഡലത്തിനും തെക്ക് ചിങ്ങത്തിനും ഇടയിലാണ് ഇത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ചെറുചിങ്ങച്ചെ ക്ലാസിക്കൽ ജ്യോതിശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞർ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക നക്ഷത്രസമൂഹമായി കണക്കാക്കിയിരുന്നില്ല; 1687-ൽ ജൊഹാന്നസ് ഹെവേലിയസ് ആണ് ഇതീനെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക നക്ഷത്രരാശിയായി അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്.
കാന്തിമാനം 6.5ൽ കൂടുതലുള്ള 37 നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ നക്ഷത്രസമൂഹത്തിലുണ്ട്. ഇവയിൽ മൂന്നെണ്ണം കാന്തിമാനം 4.5ൽ കൂടുതലള്ളവയാണ്. ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്ന് 95 പ്രകാശവർഷം അകലെ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ലിയോണിസ് മൈനോറിസ് എന്ന ഓറഞ്ച് ഭീമന്റെ കാന്തിമാനം 3.8 ആണ്. 4.4 കാന്തിമാനമുള്ള ബീറ്റ ലിയോണിസ് മൈനോറിസ് ഏറ്റവും തിളക്കമുള്ള രണ്ടാമത്തെ നക്ഷത്രമാണ്. ഇതൊരു ദ്വന്ദ്വനക്ഷത്രമാണ്. ഇതിലെ തിളക്കമുള്ള നക്ഷത്രം ഒരു ഓറഞ്ച് ഭീമനും മങ്ങിയത് മുഖ്യധാരാ മഞ്ഞനക്ഷത്രവുമാണ്. ഏറ്റവും തിളക്കമുള്ള മൂന്നാമത്തെ നക്ഷത്രം 21 ലിയോനിസ് മൈനോറിസ് ആണ്. ശരാശരി കാന്തിമാനം 4.5 ഉള്ള ഒരു വെളുത്ത മുഖ്യധാരാ നക്ഷത്രമാണിത്.
